Born and raised in Pennsylvania Molly was a professional actor in the age of thirteen, at Philadelphia the Prince Music Theater in a production called The Snow Queen. In the Arden Theater production of Into the Woods in 2002, she was awarded a Barrymore Award for playing Little Red Ridinghood. It was recast when Molly performed her Broadway debut in Into the Woods at Broadway in 2002. The show won her a Drama League Award for this performance. Molly was also in the cast of the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof, in the year 2004. She graduated in 2008 and earned her B.A. from Princeton University. In this period when she made her feature film debut in Disney's College Road Trip as Wendy Greenhut. In the year 2000, Wendy Greenhut made her Disney College Road Trip debut. Molly is most well-known for her role as Ali in Paranormal Activity 2 and for the ABC Comedy Last Man Standing written by Jack Burditt, starring Tim Allen.
