Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett declared that he intended to give over 80 percent of his money to charitable foundations. In 2020 he raised that amount to a whopping 99 percent. The foundation that received the most money was the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation--created by Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his then wife Melinda, which was primarily focused on issues of world education and health; Bill and Buffett had maintained a close relationship since the early 1990s. Other organizations that received donations included those that Buffett's three children as well as the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, named after his late wife. It concentrated on women's reproductive rights and funded college scholarship programmes. The Giving Pledge was an invitation for wealthy individuals to donate a significant portion of their money to charitable causes, created by Buffett and Gates back in 2010.
